The vacuum control valve your workshop manual mentions
is the one-way valve that screws into the back of the
intake manifold.  This is where the hose attaches but
it is not actually part of the hose.   By the way, the
stock Alfa hose is constructed to withstand the vacuum
and you may find that high pressure hose collapsing,
so check it out.
