Milano ABS

The Milano ABS is back in running order once again. Thanks to the two
digesters who offered help (there was a lot on the digest for everyone to
worry about when the problem started, namely the dues increase). The
accumulator was totally shot. I got a new one from Centerline. Then, even
though the big fuse was good and everything looked good with a meter, the
pump still wouldn't run. There was corrosion between the wire lugs and the
fuse. This sanded off, things were more or less back to normal. I still
get a very slight kick sometimes when I apply the brakes.

While the Milano was inop, I drove the Alfetta. The operator for the
driver's vent window had a whole lot of play in it since the day something
went pop while I was opening it. I took the door panel off and examined
the mechanism. What were our friends at Alfa thinking about? The worm and
sector are housed in a pot metal housing held together by pot metal rivets.
The rivets gave up the ghost, hence the extra 1/2" of slop. I drilled them
all out and replaced them with nuts and bolts.
