Lifting and Holding an Alfa

I just crawled under the 74 GTV on stands in my garage. Clearance is
5 1/2 inches from my nose to the exhaust. Deduct another 3 inches for a
creeper and clearance is a bit tight.
But I have been working like that for years. It is more than enough
room to change a transmission.
You need to learn to live with it. Or spring for a $3000 lift. Or
take a jack hammer to the garage floor and build an old style grease pit.
Watch out with a pit as heavier than air gasses like carbon dioxide, carbon
monoxide and natural gas could accumulate there.
