burn'em!

The trailing arm bushings get so stuck that using the
press to remove them can damage the arm.  All the
mechanics I know use the burn and cut method:
Start with the trailing arm held in a vice over the
garbage can, side of bushing facing down.  Heat the
area outside the bushing until the rubber bubbles. The
bushing will just slide out all by itself.  The torch
invariably lights the rubber on fire, with lots of
flame and thick black smoke.  It's Stinky fun!! And
you get to do it FOUR TIMES!   Then cut through the
metal part of the bushing with a hacksaw (or if your'e
real good, a sawz-all).  Tap tap and it's out.
Then clean the id where the bushing fits and install
the new bushings with the press.
