RE: 1974 Spider came home - and a few answers that may help...
Hi Greg,
Welcome to the Spider fold, Greg! In the case of your queries about San
Rafael resources, I have some personal experience to share.
item 5.] good body shop:
I have in the last year had several tricky sheetmetal and paint repairs done
by Orlandis Body and Fender in San Rafael and I have been very pleased with
the results, both service and quality-wise. Talk directly to Don Orlandi,
[the younger, 2nd generation family-owned] and he will take good care of
you. They used to be the in-house body shop for Alfa when they had a
dealership in San Rafael, and he is a real car-guy with a high standard of
excellence. [He personally built and finished the rods for American
Graffiti, among other past exploits.]
item 6.] good repair mechanic:
I have been a happy customer of Bruce Metras for all the years Ive owned
my Spider, and cant say enough good about his expertise, fairness, and
quality of work. Give him a try, and Im sure youll be pleased. B. Metras
Co., Tiburon Street, San Rafael.
As usual, no financial or business interest, just a happy customer of both
establishments trying to share the love. YMMV
Cheers and good luck!
