Radio R&R

Hey, gang -

Our Milano's radio came complete with a cassette stuck
in it, and an annoying tendency to stop playing, which
we found we could remedy by hitting the EJECT button.
Sometimes we had to hit the button, then trip it back
out by poking a finger into the slot, to get our sound
back on...and over the years, this became a more
frequent occurence. Now it's stopped working
altogether. This is little short of a disaster, as the
one thing that makes LA traffic jams bearable to me is
being able to hear some good sounds while idling along
in first gear...or even not moving at all.

As it happens, my accumulated skills do not include
the installation or removal of car radios, although
judging from the number of young high-school dropouts
who seem to be VERY good at quick removals those
skills surely can't be too difficult to learn. Since
we're on a very tight budget here, Tania is unwilling
to sink enough into a radio to qualify for free
installation, and has indicated that she expects me to
do the honors. Assuming that our future Kenwood or
whatever comes with some sort of instruction sheet,
and since I'm not replacing any speakers, is this
something that can be tackled by a middle-aged guy who
can just barely hook up a VCR?

And how does the Milano radio come out?
