wheels

wheels

I am glad to stand corrected on the 1987 Verde wheel issue by both Bryan
Carter and Ralph Moorhouse; it is only by such swatdowns that errors get
weeded, as they always should be. Thanks.

I am also interested in Keith Walker's mention that the 5 spoke "Revolution"

wheels were fitted as an option in the UK in both 14" and 15" sizes. I assume
that this option was a national-distributor's initiative, as I assume both the
14" and 15" Ronal A-1 was here, and that neither wheel will show up on an Alfa
Romeo SpA or Alfa-Lancia Industriale SpA parts fiche; if I am wrong on either
of these assumptions I will appreciate that correction also.

I had wondered the same thing about the Verde 'phonedial' wheels - were they
an ARI (US) thing or Alfa (Italy) thing - but the ARI accessories/boutique
catalog, which offers eight wheels (six Milano, two Spider) gives what appear
to be genuine Italian part numbers for all but the five-spoke directionals and
the OZ SZ lookalike. As for names, that catalog calls the 14" fitted to the
Gold the 'Touring Wheel" and calls the 15" slotted/wineglass wheel the "Sport
Wheel". The apparent part numbers are not necessarily definitive, as ARI did
sometimes make up genuine-looking part numbers for ARI special parts.

Onward - -
