Re: What It Would Take To Make New Alfas Competitive in America

When you say "Alfa Romeo" to the average Joe or Josephine, they think
"finicky Italian rustbucket". GM will have a gigantic PR challenge ahead of
them.

My advice to the bigwigs in Detroit is to release only the 146 Sportwagon.
Encourage the aftermarket segment to produce go-fast and cosmetic
accessories. It will be a huge hit amoung the under-30 crowd who are
currently flocking to the Mazda Protege and waiting eagerly for the Toyota
Matrix.

Once that is established, bring in the mainstream sedans. Leave the Spider
and GTV at home because that market is way too crowded.
