Try this, It worked for my milano when I used to live in upstate NY.  Buy a 
bottle of rubbing alcohol, get your hands on a 30 cc syringe or a squirt 
bottle, and squirt a few ounces into the key hole and the door latch. Freed 
up my door latch every time.
