Wait for a new Alfa or buy and A4?

To the Digester who is tiring of extending the life of an '87 Milano while waiting for Alfa to storm the American coast with their amphibious cargo carriers: Why not buy a low-mileage, well-cared-for 1995 164LS? 

It certainly would be a good transition from a "real" (that's a RWD joke!) Alfa to the newer ones that you want to be able to buy in a few years.
