spica vs webers

my 71 spider has a 1750 engine with webers, i routinely rev it to 4500
during normal driving. stock exhaust sounds lovely, torque increases with
rpm up to about 5500, suspect it has the euro cam set, the engine is
extremely responsive at low rpms, best described as "nervous", just begs to
put your foot down. The 2000 SPICA alfa seem to have an entirely different
engine response. I don't believe you should just put carbs on without
changing the cams and distributer characteristics. anyway my 2 cents worth
of rant for 2002. best regards to all devotees..
