Re: 164 Rear trunk latch failure



Brad,
I had my trunk latch fail a couple of years ago. My 
trunk would fly open when I hit a bump. It was great fun 
travelling down the interstate on the way back from 
Detroit, seeing my automatic spoiler deploy.

You are correct about replacement. Simply order the part 
and replace. I recall that two bolts will do it. There 
is a link between the latch assembly and the lock that 
must be slipped into place on the new part.
