Thanks, Leonardo, for the (sad) report from Arese. It seems like a significant loss of assets for Alfa Romeo, both in practical and symbolic terms, that all it is left with is the Pomigliano d'Arco (Naples/Alfasud) plant. I wonder if Bob Lutz (new GM product czar) can see the marketing advantage in keeping Alfas ties with the city that give it its split badge. Or are the consumers indifferent to such sentimental considerations? US-market Golfs and Jettas are made in Mexico, BMW and MB SUVs in the US. Maybe the market just doesn't care if the next Alfa is built in Arese, Pomigliano, Ingolstadt or Indiana!
