It may be more desirable, but the earlier, piston compressor is at least
rebuildable (unlike the more modern rotary jobs) and can be made to
work reasonably efficiently. The biggest problem with early Alfa A/C is
that the evaporators and condensors are too small. Condensors are
easy to replace with something bigger. The evaporators, in Alfetta's at
least, could be problematic.

I think I'd be tempted to run with the factory/neo factory brackets and
move the battery to make way for the factory compressor. The belt drive
arrangement is a pain whichever way you go though.
