EP gear box oil & Spica fuel pumps

Hello All -

The sticker on the underside of the hood (bonnet) on my 72 GTV clearly lists
EP gear oil for the tranny, although the 75/25 mix of 50W motor oil & 75W90
EP gear oil seems to make the 2nd gear syncro relatively smooth.

At Wes Ingram's recommendation, I'm currently running with a Bosch fuel pump
used on the mid 80s spiders. It's been working just fine for months now. The
only real difference I noticed was that the newer type pump has a slightly
narrower diameter, so I used some pieces cut from an old radiator coolant
hose to wrap the pump so that it fit snugly in the existing mounting. I
think the elec. connections might be different ( ring terminals instead of
push-ons ? ) but I ran new wires anyway because I added an aux fuel pump
relay at the same time ( highly recommended ). The nice thing about the
newer type pumps local availability and relative price ( $180 vs. $400 ).
