Spider Tranny Repairs, Please Advise....
Hello my friends...Again,
I received little or no reply concerning below. Since then I have
received est.'s from $00.00 to $1400.00 with little difference other than
"Higher" mark-ups on parts and reasonable to ridiculous labor est. All have
said they have to take the tranny out and look before they can give me a
firm cost to repair...I know that is somewhat true, but It also puts me in a
poor bargaining position once my car is in his shop, tranny out, etc.
Please advise. Thanks,
My 86 Spider Veloce with 61 K miles is beginning to slip it's clutch under
power acceleration. I purchased the car 2 years ago with the infamous bad
synchros(2&3)and have been wanting for something else to go before repairing
them.
So this is what it needs:
Clutch HD
Pressure Plate
Bearing
Synchco Rings, and Synchro Sleeves
I'll let most shops work on my car, but my past experince in NY with my 64
Sprint, and other non Alfa's tranny work, has got me covering my back.
If you do this type of work but you're not in So Fl, please let me know what
your average charge would be??
If you've had it done in the last year or two, please let be know what it
cost you, and if you are in So Fl and happy with the work you've had
done..please refer me to the shop..
Thank You People
Gabriel
