Dom,

This happened on my previous Verde.  The Ignition key is fried!  It happened to me at night and I saw the spark and everything.  The screws you see there are shear pins.  The head snaps off if you try to turn them.  They are there so that is someone tries to steal the car by switching the ignition lock they can't.  I bought a new ignition lock and had a professional locksmith remove and install the new lock.
