Both of my '82 Baloccos have Brembo calipers.

Are you sure the wires are coming out of the calipers?  Most pad wear
sensors I've seen use wires embedded in the pads (not the calipers).
Somebody probably used Milano pads in your GTV6, and cut the wires off
because they were not needed.
