Progressive Spring rate -torsion or not

not to add another tech brief about how progressive rate is done.. but...

unless it's a street only car, why bother with progressive rate?
can your shox properly handle the progresiveness of the spring rate?
To me the progressive rate is only aimed for comfort.

on the track, the last thing you want for your suspension is the
uncertainty of the "variable" rate from the springs... okey... maybe
you do want, but I don't :) I prefer constant rate or linear rate
so I have better feel what the suspension is reacting to etc.

If somebody convince me that progressive springs are good for the tracks too..

just my $.02...
