K&N filter GTV6

Hi

Appreciate it if someone could tell me whether the K&N airfilter for a
GTV6 is a straight swap for the stock filter or are modifications to the
casing where the element goes required.

And generally, in peoples experience is it worth using a K&N in
preference to a standard type filter.
