'91 164L died, won't start

My '164L died on the NY Northway back in July. Wife said it lost power and
thepedal went to the floor (cruise was on). When she got the car stopped
there were flames and smoke coming from the cat. I had her tow it to a
nearby Midas shop for a look. Cat did indeed go cherry and melted some of
the heat shield. Now the car won't restart. It's back home now and the
problem seems to be a lack of spark. I tried another coil (bosch blue) to
no avail although there is 12v to the coil. Earlier before her trip I did
a major tune up, new t-belt, cap, rotor, wires plugs, valve adj, serp
belts, etc and the car ran rough at idle and throttle tip in but smoothed
out at 2000 rpms or so. Don't remember it running rough before. Check
engine light came on with code 1223, Lamba Probe inner Adjuster Failure. I
can smell gas in the tailpipe so I'm guessing the injectors are OK. Any
hints of where I should start?

Thanks for any help!
