Re: 2003 Maserati 4200 GT Spyder



Hi,

It was Giotto Bizzarrini who used the word "Spyder" in 1966 first for his
Bizzarrini 5300 GT Spyder SI.
This was only for marketing purposes. The letter "y" is unknown in the
Italian alphabeth so it took extra attention on the home market.
Curious is that all three built Bizzarrini Spyders are now in the States. So
maybe the "y" attracts the American people most.
