mine is also street bound (a 74 GTV), but I did remove the rear seat to
accomodate the roll bar.  You can see a picture of the f/e location here:

I suppose that in front of the passenger seat is a good location as well.  I
got mine at an old ACE hardware store after looking everywhere.  I also
could find the metal bracket to mount it properly.
