Spring is here! New summer tires!

Today I installed the new summer wheels on my '96 GTV. I ended up with
the 17" wheels that are optional on the '99 GTVs. Check here for a
picture:

I wonder why the Australian Alfa Romeo site is more updated than the
Italian one? It seems like Alfa Romeo hasn't changed the GTV info a
bit since the page was new some years ago! Loads of stuff has changed
since then, most notably with the new styling, wheels and wing. Sigh.

Anyway, the wheels are huge! I mean, I'm used to Spider wheels, but
these are pretty outrageous. They actually fit pretty well too,
anything bigger must be impossible to fit (wheel: 17"x7.5", tire:
225/45-17).

Handling was changed a lot, as expected. It takes a while getting used
to, but I'll take it for a long test drive this weekend :-). Summer is
looking good... if the good weather continues (and the %$=A3"%
authorities could clean the roads!) I might even get the Spider out of
the garage before May :-).

Anyone out there with experience on lowering the new GTVs? Ride height
was increased 9mm with the new setup, and it needs to be lowered 2-3
cms to look its best.
