Fuel filter leak
Does anyone have a suggestion on how to stop a leak at the engine fuel
filter? I changed the engine compartment fuel filter today, screwed the
bolt back down real tight, started the car, and gas was flowing out of it.
I noticed that there was no gasket when I removed the filter housing from
the bracket. Is the canister supposed to have a rubber gasket, and if not,
would a gasket help? I used an original Alfa Ricambi filter with the spring
that was in the box, but that's all that was in the box, ie, no gasket. All
suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm afraid to drive it because of
its proximity to the headers and the possibility of a fire. Thanks-
Mark
