Re: Alfa Museum

 Subject: Alfa museum

I'm in the early planning stages of a trip to Italy.

Where is the Alfa museum? I know the place is called Arese, but
is that near Milan or Turin?
Also, any suggestions about renting an Alfa in Italy? I can't
stand the idea of being there and having to rent something like
 a Ford or Opel.

 Cheers,

Neil,

the Alfa museum is in Arese, about half way between the Malpense
airport and Milan. By the way, Alfa's are hard to come by at Malpense, but
there is another airport in Milan, called Linate, which is frequented more
by businessmen and therefore have Alfa's for rent.

I don't remember which exit it is at on the freeway, presumably the Arese
exit. I got lost because the toll booth collector told me to get off at the
exit
before Arese. The entrance is a short distance from the freeway, on via Alfa
Romeo
and is NOT marked at all.

Turn in at the FIAT sign ! and tell the security guy at the entrance gate
that you want to go to the Alfa museum. He'll guide you to a parking lot
from where you'll see another security checkpoint/guard house. You sign
in and give your passport as security for a "guest pass".

You then cross a parking lot, enter a building, follow some signs, get lost
a few times, go either up or down stairs, cross over another parking lot
or two, go thru a few more buildings .....and finally you will come to
the museum building ! ! ! What an experience ! I maybe saw 3 people
while walking thru the maze of buildings and maybe 2 or 3 more in the
museum itself.

enjoy !
