Firstly, thanks for everyone's help (and patience).

I have simply decided to rebuild the original calipers. It will be much
easier, and will provide more than adequate braking.

Now that the front brakes aren't binding (it was unpushable by hand before)
the car's performance has been fully unleashed. That is one quick & fun
car.....
