I wonder

All this talk of Alfa coming back to the States has made me curious. 
Recently in New York I came across a brand new 166 with manufacturers
plates on it (even took some pictures if you want to see it - email
marty@domain.elided).  I wonder if the manufacturer plates
weren't from GM?
