33 16V overtemp

Hi,

If the warning light is coming on, then that is too hot. It really should
not get over 100 degrees. Looking in the service manual (for the series 1)
the thermostat should open at 86 degrees and the fan turn on at 92 degrees.
If the fan is not coming on the it could be the sensor in the radiator on
the RHS, just below the inlet pipe from the engine. The temps stated above
also seem to match for the series 3 vehicles.

Also to turn the fan on all the time you can short out the sensor described
above, although do not leave it permanently like this.

I have just needed to replace my thermostat and a pipe because they were
knackered in my series 3. Also had to replace the thermostat on my series 1
many years ago.
