Alfa sales and perception

I agree wholeheartedly that one needs to convince, or at least PLANT the
seed, someone to buy something. To my young and horrid recollection,
Alfas were never marketed well or agressively. In fact, all the
promotional material on Ebay and the like is the first I've heard or
seen most of it. In addition, again I think that distributing/selling Alfas
in the US may not be as difficult as some may believe. Here I think the
Ferrari dealership etc route is the way to go. As I understand it, most
Ferrari dealerships are break-even endeavors; and as such they would be
likely to welcome another product to beef up their clientele/bottom line.
If you bought a new Ferrari and had your wife with you (or husband),
don't you think they might like a new sedan or spider parked next door? A
$45K sedan or whatever next to a spouses new $150K machine sounds like a
bargain. Makes a little sense to buy multiple cars at one dealership.
Everyone that has a Ferrari has at least 1 more car, likely two. Along
with this tepid reasoning, you could imagine every Ferrari owner buying
an Alfa too, for the rain, spouse or what-have-you.
Lastly, and sorry for the lack of brevity, should Alfa wish to return and
dispel the 'reliability problem' label, I'd be happy to make myself
available
for an ad as an owner of 2 over 100K mile Alfas. And happily so. In fact,
I think with all of us here we could likely fill a stadium parking lot
with 100K+ Alfas. Imagine that magazine ad!
Regards,
Adam
