Harness/ belts

Couple of comments about belts-
First of all, if you are going to just change the belts, do yourself a favor
and replace the lap only belt with a 3 point belt- this is what really saves
lives.

If you want to put in a harness, DO NOT USE A 4 POINT! These are not
allowed at any AROC competition event, and are pretty unsafe (relatively).
You must have a 5 or a 6 point harness to be safe. And while the belts are
called anti submarine belts, they actually prevent the lap/ shoulder belts
from rising into your abdomen during an accident. In an accident, you pull
forward, which will pull on the shoulder belt, which will pull up on the lap
belt, right into your gut. You can mount a 6 point under the 2 front seat
mounts- that's what I do...

The 3 point is safe- in the same accident, the cross belt will tighten,
which will tighten the lap belt- not lift it.
