the car disc for the 2.0 L cars shows a figure of 43.4# - 57.8#.
Doesn't elaborate.
If you overtighten them they will break.  Happened to a friend of mine.  He 
used to tighten the nuts on his spider as tyight as he coudl get them.  
fortunately he discovered the broken lugs before he took the car to time 
trials at LRP.  He's more careful now - and uses a torque wrench.
