I believe the '87s - first year imported here - had the same or similar 
wheels (hard to tell exactly, but they look the same) as the Platinums (and 
golds although they were 14 x 6s) - w/ slots.
the telephone dial wheels came in '88 & '89.
for instance in the September 1987 Road & Track road test reprinted by 
ARDONNA for promotional purposes - the Anthracite Verde on the cover proudly 
displays the 15 x 6 slotted wheels.  By the way, the tires listed are Pirelli 
P600s.
