The GTV-6 is much more fun to drive.  4th gear at 5000 rpms produces a 
beautiful sound unmatched by the 944.  Balance of both cars is very good as 
are the brakes. The later model 944 might autocross a little better than the 
GTV-6 due to the changes made by Porsche to 944S and S2 motors.
For long distance touring the Alfa wins again with a great trunk area and 
better wind seal of the rear hatch.  Find a nice GTV-6 and you won't be sorry.
