Get a 164. Great winter cars, the heater works (so long as the steppers are
ok!), FWD, great handling and the body is at least partly galvanized for
rust protection! What a car. Four snow tires and you can go SUV baiting,
drives 'em crazy as you pace 'em and pass 'em at the first real corner.
Also, the capacious trunk will hold a lot of Spider parts!
MY 91 164L is regularly winter driven, garaged, but washed infrequently in
winter(why bother in Calgary washing just wears out the paint!). Zero rust.
Watch the windshield header it tends to collect salty water and corrode,
o'wise, rust free motoring and the Spider will be even MORE enjoyable
because the roof down, rear drive classic motoring it offers is completely
different from the 164, but both are definitely full of Alfa and Italian
character.
