Alfa Owner car values

<<<<<
Anybody notice the table of values in the latest Alfa Owner (Feb.) ? - like
to know where you can find a $5k GTA much less a top notch one for $17k and
then there's the $20k GTZ-2.....
>>>>>

I hope this table was a gigantic typo. A lot of the prices are jokes. I'd
buy to find a 93 Spider for $4800 <g>!

But while we can chuckle over the prices, here's something that AlfaBill
brought up to me: pretend you're hit by a coffee-sucking, cell-phone using,
yuppie soccer-mom in a Ford GodAlmighty SUV. Your beautiful 93 Spider,
with nary a door ding, and only 35k on the clock is totalled. The soccer
mom's insurance company offers you $7500 to total your car (BTW, Kelley
Blue Book lists the trade on a 93 Veloce as $9600.)

You sputter and fluster of course, but you need evidence to support your
claim of a higher value. So you tell the claims adjuster there's
Hemmings... the CPI... and oh yes, there's a national owner's club-OOPS!
The insurance company contacts the national club, after all, this is a
semi-exotic and the club should have good idea of the prices. The club
gives a payout of $4800, THOUSANDS LOWER THAN KELLY and the insurance
company LOWERS THE PAYOUT!

Thanks a lot, AROC.
