New Milano owner

It's good to see some new enthusiasm for the marque!

In a message dated 02/18/2000 6:13:30 PM Pacific Standard Time, Chip, a new
Milano owner, writes:

need to warm the car up for about 5 minutes before it seems to run
properly. Is this true with most Milanos?

NO! You do not need to let the car warm up at all. Just don't take it over
about 3000 rpm until it's warmed up. If it does not run normally for the
first 5 minutes, something is definitiely wrong. Get it fixed.

 2. Right now, I am getting about 150 miles per tank of gas, that seems
way to little MPG. What would cause excessive consumption? How can I
check the injectors? I still have to check compression and can not
 detect any leaks.

You're right -- that's EXCESSIVE fuel consumption. Assuming you're in the
USA, you should be getting something around 280+ miles before you get a
reading of E, perhaps more before the warning light comes on.

 3. How do I change the gas line hose that is connected to the cold
start injector? It seems to be screwed or press fit to the other end.

 4. While driving the car hard, it seems to miss-out and have some
 hesitation.

Sounds like you have something wrong that quite possibly is causing all the
symptoms you're listing.

If you don't know how to take care of it yourself, take the car to a
qualified Alfa mechanic, get it diagnosed and fixed, and next time you'll
have a good idea of the cause, the effect, and the cure.

With proper care and feeding the wonderful Alfa 6 is an economical,
enthusiastic, and nearly bulletproof power plant.

You know what goes in there where it says 0170, right?
