Apart that ALL engined of all vehicles need to be warmed up, yes, the
Milano/75
does need a good warm up. I normally leave it standing idling for one minute
or two, then I slowly get on going, never revving over 2000rpm. When I begin
to see some coolant temperature (or warm air coming inside from the vents)
I know I can rev up to 3000. The car is perfectly warmed up and read for
fun when, idling, the oil pressure gauge goes down to half the range: If you
pay attention, once fired up, this gauge's needle stays pretty high, exactely
as you were running normally.
Remember than standing idling doesn't mean PROPER warm up: it's moving
that you let all the parts (especially the gearbox that's SEPARATED from
engine) to reach the proper working temperature.
Talking again about gearbox, remember that most alfa are equipped with a
pretty
rough gearbox, especially for reverse and 2nd shifting. It improves and work
much better once warmed up.
