over here Alfas (especially older ones) are know to be the most gas drinker
cages around.
You can find a lot of alfas LPG converted, my previous one was too.
The great Alfa 90 was one of the worst cars in a matter of mileage,
there's people talking about 7km/liter (16.6mpg) .... AVERAGELY!
But don't think that a 75 1600 can be that good.... my previous one
used to be around 9-10km/l (21.3-23.7mpg) but not in econ driving (
I mean being well over 120kpg everytime there's a bit of space to go,
ignoring speed limits! HA!). The Giulietta 1600 was about on the
same mileage range. The 1800... ARGH... that's a constant debt! :-))))
With LPG I did an average of 7 or even 8km/l (19mpg).
The 75 1800ie manages to arrive up to 12km/l (28.5), my 1800 turbo
is THEORICALLY capable to arrive up to 17km/l (40mpg) but that's
keeping 60km/h for and endless straight road. As soon as you must
play with gear, rev a bit or, .... hehehe... activate the turbine...
bye bye. I can be as slow as I wanna, but I can't get anything better
than 10km/l. If I go hard... well... turbine on and mountain twisty roads
(where the funs IS)... well... expect w/o problem some 5km/l (11.8mpg) or
less.
