Leaky GTV6

The last two times it rained in Southern California, I found water in
the front passenger's side footwell of my 86 gtv6.  The first time there
was about 1/2 inch of water there!  I looked around a bit and found that
the right side's fresh air vent draining was clogged.  I removed about
two handfulls of dirt by poking around with a wire until draining was
restored.  I thought that I had solved the problem, but sure enough,
after last night's rain, there's water again inside the car.  It appears
to be running down the inside of the firewall, behind the carpet and
just collecting in the footwell.  I cannot peek high enough to locate
the source since the airconditioner and other plumbing is in the way.
Any ideas where it might be coming from?  Has anybody experienced
something similar?

PS  This is supposed to be my waterproof car... The spider is pretty
leaky but that's almost expected!
