I had the same problem on my '86 Spider. Replaced all exhaust parts but no
cure. Replace all rubber parts on the driveshaft, still no cure. Than i
brougt the car to a workshop. Several things were done inside the gearbox
and the flywheel (or balanswheel) was balanced. Also the complete clutch was
replaced. No problems anymore. The repairjob costed about $1500, so it's
quite expensive. Because of the rattle several parts like the starter came
loose. So it's a problem yoo must solve. Anyway, the joy of driving this car
increased by 100% when the the noises were gone.
