Re: ES30 + 156 GTA

Just catching up on the digest and saw the thread about the ES30. I =
believe that while Alfa Romeo did design the SZ and Zagato built it, =
Zagato both designed and built the RZ (convertible). Apparently most of =
the panels on the RZ were different, due to the need to increase stiffness =
I guess. IMHO both cars look much better in the flesh .. I mean metal ... =
no I mean plastic ... than in photographs.=20

The latest autocar magazine here in the UK has some info on the forthcoming=
156 GTA - apparently its going to have a modified version of the 3.0 V6 =
found on the 166/GTV with displacement increased to 3.2 litres. If I =
remember rightly output will be 265 bhp with top speed exceeding 150 mph. =
Could be quite a handful as a FWD car. Also some spy shots of the 145/146 =
replacement (the 147!) and the sportwagon version of the 156, both of =
which look great IMHO. Both began development under Walter da Silva (sp?) =
of course. Does anyone know what will be the first new Alfa developed =
without his input?

Ciao
