Sounds like you would have been first in the queue for a Proteo, the 164
based coupe that was shown a few years ago.

=46rom a press release I picked up it was:-

"BAsed on the floorpan of the successful 164 saloon, the Proteo
provides both drop head as well as fixed head motoring thanks
to an ingenious multisection glass roff, four wheel drive,
four wheel steering and the 'intelligent' electronically
controlled suspension fitted to the current 164 Cloverleaf"

The engine was described as a 3L 24 valve V6 delivering 260hp,
using variable inlet valve timing on each bank of cylinders.

The prototype was shown off at the UK car show in 1991, and
now lives in the Alfa museum.
