Shankle Sure Start

My 69 berlina has a Sure Start instead of the original actuator which
would be fine except that it won't extend all the way when its in the FI
box. When I pull it out it works fine. It uses a spring to help extend
and I assume that its weakened over time. I can try and replace the
spring but is there another possible reason such as gross misadjustment
of the Spica?
