Exhaust fumes

On my 88 Graduate have a problem with exhaust smell in the cockpit with top
up and a window(s)open or cracked so as to create a draft. No smell with
everything closed up. Checked exhaust system and it seems to be OK. Checked
trunk seal and that seems OK. Anyone have any idea where or how it may be
coming in?
