Just to bring everyone up to speed on even thinking of slipping something by
some bureaucrat that knows nothing about cars. The person at DOT that will
have to sign off on any car brought into the country gentleman by the name of
Dick Merrit. He is one of the founding members of the Ferrari Club of
America. In other words he knows his cars. He is an enthusiast that wants to
see these great cars here as well. However he follows the letter of the law.
If it's not eligible for the exemption, it isn't getting in. And he is the
easy part. Wait till you have to deal with EPA. They hate the new law.

A friend just tried to bring in a DeTomaso Guara since the new law was
passed. This car qualifies, it passed DOT no problem. EPA rejected it and it
had to be brought in as a race car. He had to install a roll cage safety
cell, etc. In other words no road use. So before you get all excited about
it. Think again.
