RE: Spyder Tranny

Popping out of reverse can be caused by worn detents,mis-adjusted shift
linkage or worn engine and transmission mounts.

My 84 Spyder came with (among other flaws) collapsed engine mounts and a
disintegrated transmission mount. Replacing them restored the 1st-2nd syncro
and the car no longer pops out of reverse.
Replacing the transmission mount with the trans in the car was not fun -
improvised a tool with bits of pipe, sockets and a large clamp.
