Popping 1 and 3 rd Gear

Hi,

I just fixed the driveshaft u-joints in my second spider and notices on the
test
run that 1 and 3 gear are poping out.  They were not doing that before but
the transmission
did not have a lot of life left.  What could be the cause ?  Could this be
fixed without
taking the transmission completely appart ?
