Milano antenna question

Happy new year all,

I have a question regarding a Milano power antenna.

Together with another digester I'm trying to make two working antennas out
of four dysfunctional ones. I've taken apart two of the so far, and things
should be looking good - one has a bad arial, the other has a burnt out
motor.

I put the two together and can make it go up, but then it won't go back
down. If I reposition the cam and gear I can make it go down, but not back
up again. In either case the cam stops about 60 deg short of actuating the
relay that would cause things to reverse direction.

Looking at the cam it is not intuitive to me how things should be working.

I'm pretty sure I have the wiring understood - black is ground, red is
always hot, and yellow when hot causes the antenna to do up, when not hot
causes the antenna to go back down. I may be missing something here because
until the antenna hits either end of it's travel I don't see how it can
reverse itself, so if you disconnect the power while the antenna is on it's
way up it will not go back down.

Has anybody out there had one of these things apart? Care to tell me what
I'm missing?

Tia,

bs
