164 Alarm Key

Looks like I might be replacing the battery in my 164L- which brings
up an interesting dilemma:

How do I get a new bypass key so the alarm isn't tripped by the break
in current when the previousx owner didn't give it to me?  Can a
duplicate be had based on the VIN #?
Anyonw know how long that might trake?
